Camp Meeting June 2026
Our first meeting at the Smokehouse Pit BBQ, in Millbrook was a success! We worked out a few bugs, but had great service from the staff and a nice room to hold our meeting. We had access to amazing food and drinks, while socializing with compatriots!
Brother Schwartz kept everyone entertained prior to the start of the meeting with traditional songs on his trusty guitar.
First Lieutenant Grooms presented Bill Myrick with an appreciation award for his many years of faithful service as the camp quartermaster. It is believed that brother Myrick has been the camp quartermaster since Appomattox!
Next Commander Waldo awarded Camp Treasurer John Dennis for his outstanding service of going above and beyond his camp duties.
Commander Waldo discussed camp business and upcoming events and then turned the floor over to our guest speaker, Dr. Lawrence Krumenaker.
Dr. Krumenaker is a professional astronomer, science educator, and writer. He gave a compelling presentation on the specific battle lines and forts from 1864, in and surrounding Atlanta, along with how to reference those sites today.
