I was thinking the other day about how much this industry has changed over the last 30 years. I’ve had a front-row seat to all of it. It is amazing how we’ve evolved, how technology has come in and continues to shape where we’re going. And honestly, I’m excited about that part. There’s a lot ahead.
But what’s really stuck with me isn’t just the change, it’s what hasn’t changed.
With all the years in this business, one thing I’ve learned is that you never stop learning. Every day brings something new. And through all of it, I’ve come to appreciate something even more than I did early on...trust.
I’ve been genuinely impressed watching what Arnold Schafer and Lisa Wood built. They didn’t build their company chasing revenue. They built it on a handshake. And not just the idea of one, but what it actually represents. To them, that handshake meant their partners and clients weren’t just business relationships, they were treated like family. It meant their word mattered. That when they said something, it carried the same weight as sitting across the kitchen table from someone and looking them in the eye.
What’s incredible is they’ve taken that mindset and scaled it into a national company. And somehow, they’ve never lost it. If you want proof, I have client testimonials.
That handshake still means something. And more importantly, it’s still measurable in how they operate every day.
In a world that’s moving faster and getting more digital by the minute, I think that says a lot. Enough said... thanks for reading this!
