🎉Drop in for some food, libations, networking, and some spooky good times. Kids and F&F friendly. Costumes not required but welcome. The parade usually starts around 7 pm at Peirce Island and works its way down Congress Street.

Looking for a scary good time? Save the date!

CMG’s Halloween Parade Open House - Friday October 31st – 5:30 to 8:30.

Good news for all future homeowners! The Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act has been signed into law. 🏡🔑

This new law prohibits the three credit bureaus from selling homebuyers information (known as "trigger leads") to unsavory lenders right after you apply for a mortgage. These lenders would then aggressively solicit and spam consumers via calls, texts, and emails.

Maine real estate agents, home sellers, and homebuyers take note!

There is going to be an additional Maine real estate transfer tax rate for properties over $1 million that goes into effect on November 1, 2025.

Currently, buyers and sellers each pay $2.20 per $1000 of purchase price for buying and selling a home regardless of purchase price one time at closing, and this will remain in effect for homes up to a $1,000,000 purchase price. The new tax will be $3.80 per thousand of purchase price paid by the buyer and seller for any amount of the purchase price over $1,000,000.

As you hopefully know, I’ve been heavily involved with Gather for over a decade now and currently serve as the Board of Directors President, so the organization and its mission are important to me. Every month Gather is supporting 10k to 13k individuals through our various programs and services including our food pantry, mobile markets, Fresh Food Bus, Meals for Kids, etc. Our current ‘footprint’ of communities served is from Seabrook, east down Route 101 to Raymond, north up to Rochester and Farmington, and southeast down the NH and ME boarder to Kittery and Portsmouth. The demand on Gather’s services continues to increase and to meet the need we are developing a new location at 124 Heritage Ave in Portsmouth NH. This new location, which will be opening in Sept 2025, will increase our bandwidth and efficiencies so we can assist more people fighting hunger and food insecurity. The new location will also help Gather act as a liaison or hub between those in need and other philanthropic organizations, so people can get the assistance and education they need beyond simply food assistance. To fund this effort, we’ve been running a capital campaign since January. Our goal is $8M by the end of the year and we’ve already raised over $5M thanks to our generous supporters!
