It’s frozen FridayšŸ¦- My personal quest thru southern NH’s ice cream scene during this summer! Today I stopped at Karsyn’s Gelato & Bakeshop on Kelly Street in Manchester- and the cannoli and cannoli gelato flavor was@great. They have so many flavors not pictured here, and they’re open until 9 on Fridays and Saturdays so be sure to check them out! 😊

Where should I go next?

Just a friendly reminder, when you’re not sure if you want to move to Mass, NH, Maine or down to Rhode Island, or maybe even across the country, chances are I can help!

In addition to VA loans, I also work with a ton of relocation clients, so when you have a client that needs a lender who knows how to execute a cross country move; the furthest I’ve helped a client move is from Alaska to Maine 😊

It’s Monday but we’re still celebrating America’s 250th year!!! For frozen Friday I was travelling so I didn’t get to stop and share one of my all time favorite ice cream spots, Stewart's Shops , if you’re from western VT or upstate NY (the REAL upstate) you already know what flavor this is, packed with star spangled pop rocks, and I added a touch of strawberry sauce.

While this isn’t in NH, I wanted to share a piece of where I’m from and spent 23 years of my life and a flavor icon to the 518 and 802 area codes! And I highly suggest if you ever see this pit stop, grab some gas, maybe a make your own chili dog, and a fresh scoops! Happy 250 years USA, and here’s to 250 more!!! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

So I grabbed a coffee yesterday morning and walked past the New Hampshire State House all decked out for the Fourth of July. And it made me stop for a second and think about just how much American history is sitting right here in Concord. Here’s some facts and nuggets of info I’ve learned about NH over the years ā¬‡ļø

Did you know: The New Hampshire State House was completed in 1819 and is the OLDEST state capitol in the country where the legislature STILL meets in its original legislative chambers?! That’s pretty incredible when you think about it, everything we’ve legislated since then those walls have heard, amazing to me anyway!

Even cooler? New Hampshire was actually the FIRST colony to establish its own independent government on January 5, 1776—almost six months before the Declaration of Independence was signed. Does this make NH a Capricorn? I think yes. šŸ˜‰ ā™‘ļø

And when you think about it, New Hampshire’s role in the founding of our country gets talked about a little bit. Like, we all know General John Stark as a Revolutionary War hero but we rarely discuss the depths of the roles he played in the French and Indian war and also the tremendous W at the Battle at Bennington which was key to the win at Saratoga aka the ā€œturning pointā€! We’ve all heard ā€œLive Free or Die,ā€ but how often do we really dive into the stories behind it? Or about the Pine Tree Riot of 1772 in Weare—one of the earliest organized acts of colonial resistance against the British, which was YEARS before the Boston Tea Party. There is so much history here!

Anyway… I love finding little connections like this between places we see every day and the people and events that helped shape our nation. American history isn’t just in Philadelphia or Boston—some of its most important chapters were written right here in New Hampshire!!

Happy Birthday, America! ā¤ļøšŸ¤šŸ’™

As we enter birthday week for America, we went to Boston to check out the oldest member of our Navy fleet, the USS Constitution commissioned in 1797!

Presently commanded by CDR Crystal Schaefer, she’s survived 33 battles (UNDEFEATED btw) including during the war of 1812 when she earned her nickname when a US sailor said the British cannon balls were just bouncing off of her like she had iron sides (result of the construction from southern live oak, the hardest wood found in North America no doubt!).

Also fun fact: the crew members are all active-duty sailors who not only preserve the ship, but also learn traditional 18th-century sailing skills. What a neat assignment!

We heard about this ship when we were visiting the original house of congress all the way down in Philadelphia two years ago! Stunning piece of history: ā€œold Ironsidesā€ šŸ˜ŠšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

This was free to visit by the way!

Have you ever just had a craving for strawberry? šŸ“

To celebrate frozen treat Friday, we visited Mack's Apples specifically for their Strawberry Shortcake Sunday, and of course a box of fresh picked strawberries šŸ˜

This summer I am working my way through local southern NH Ice cream must-try’s. Follow along! šŸ¦

Memorial Day isn’t about barbecues, long weekends, or even thanking Veterans for their service. It’s about remembering those who gave everything and never had the chance to come home.

Today, we pause to honor the fallen and the families who carry their memory forward. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Got a strike while the iron is hot, as nothing’s normal anymore. If you like what you see, you lock it and don’t play. You never know what can change overnight!
