I then contacted Casey Hamlin at Cross Country Mortgage. On the first call, Casey promised that if I signed on with Cross Country, he would do everything possible to get the condo approved by the VA. He was a man of his word. Casey and his team worked several months with the VA, builder, developer, HOA and realtors to meet the VA’s detailed requirements. In the end, Casey secured the VA loan for me. But he did not do it just for me. He realized VA approval would assist other veterans in a state with a substantial veteran population. In a tight funding market, it would also open an additional stream of qualified buyers to assist current and future condo sales in the Scarborough Downs development area.
