Do you grab your drive-thru coffee and ever think, “I’m probably spending WAY too much money on this”??

My next guest knew she had a Dunkin Donuts habit, she just didn’t realize that it was costing her nearly $400 per month.

How much are we spending on a single coffee nowadays? I know I’ve spent close to $7 on a single drink but oof, this is high.

Health savings accounts can dramatically improve how you pay for medical expenses.

I go over how we spent $8k using a HSA in one year over on my YouTube channel!

They offer tax-deductible contributions, tax-free growth, and tax-free withdrawals for medical expenses. Over 36 million accounts are active in the US. Do you have one?

Sinking funds have saved me countless times. Here’s what I use them for:

Car insurance premiums (I pay every 6 months)
Clothes
Home upgrades
Vacations
New car
HOA dues
Property taxes
Shopping

As you can see I’m a big fan.

Determine the goal amount.
Determine the end date.
Divide goal amount by number of months to end date. That’s the monthly contribution you’ll need.

I go into more detail in my latest video with a complete breakdown of my Super Budget Template!

Most people pick the wrong tool to build credit.

Credit scores can impact your ability to buy a house, get favorable terms on your next car loan, and even determine your next job in some cases. Improving your score is much different than just checking it, so you’ll want to compare SmartCredit and Credit Karma to make the most of your strategy.

I go deeper into the major differences on my YouTube channel so you’ll wanna check that out before deciding. Link to my channel is in my profile!

Many millennials with solid incomes still feel overwhelmed by debt payments, rising costs, and a budget that never seems to stick. Shame loves to creep in here — but this isn’t a character flaw; it’s a systems problem, and it’s fixable.

Here’s what I see most often:
❌ No clear plan that prioritizes goals (so the loudest bill wins).
❌ Debt siphoning energy and choices — even when income looks great on paper.
❌ A budget that feels restrictive, so it gets abandoned… then the cycle repeats.

What you actually need isn’t more hustle — it’s a simple framework + accountability so you can live well and hit your financial goals.

👉 That’s exactly why I created the DFM Group Coaching Program, an 8-week experience starting October 1. It’s designed for high-income earners who are ready to finally get control of their spending, pay off debt faster, and feel confident about money again — all without compromising their lifestyle.

The program is built on my 6-part framework, the DFM Money Method.
It’s a proven step-by-step path to get out of financial overwhelm and into real confidence.

Over 8 weeks together, you’ll learn how to control spending without the guilt, build a realistic budget, and create a debt payoff plan that actually moves. Most importantly, you’ll repair your relationship with money so it supports your lifestyle instead of fighting it.

Because this is a small group, you’ll get high-touch coaching and a non-judgy space to finally make changes that stick. Think “big sister energy”: honest, transparent, and fun — minus the finger-wagging.

Tap the ⚡️GROUP link in my bio to apply and I’ll reach out with next steps.

Cheering you on!

FinCon25 was everything I needed to get inspired and reenergized in my business.

If you’re unfamiliar with FinCon, it’s a personal finance conference for brands and creators to come together to share ideas on how to spread a positive money message.

I reconnected with old friends like (she was one of the first creators I met in 2018) and (a wonderful friend who has a great money message for families) and (she runs a successful Facebook Ads agency - she truly inspires me to dream BIG with my biz).

Plus, I got to meet who I admire SO much. She runs an incredible YouTube channel AND recently launched a new book, “Add a Zero: A Step-By Step Guide to Financial Freedom and Getting to Your First Million”

It’s humans like these that inspire me to continue pursuing my passion of financial education.

As an ambitious mom, I found myself having a quiet moment to pump (thank you for supplying portable nursing rooms) and reflect on where I’m headed next.

Thank you for supporting DFM and its mission to help millennials crush debt and achieve financial confidence that leads to more fun and fewer payments.

Can’t wait to celebrate the milestones and the wins that will come my way in the next 12 months!

This is why you have an emergency fund. Four days ago, a giant storm cell ripped through our neighborhood, dumping more than 9” of rain overnight. Our sump pump failed, which backed up water into our basement.

After removing standing water and replacing the pump, we realized water had gotten underneath the flooring. The padding and plastic lining were soaked down to the concrete floor.

Here’s how much we spent to fix the damages (so far):

$350 - new sump pump
$200 - cleaning supplies
$80 - water sensors (to put near all water sources to alert us when a leak happens)
$15 - moisture meter (detect moisture levels in drywall)
Free - fans and dehumidifiers (both we own and some we borrowed)

We will likely have to cut the bottom 12-18” of drywall to remove any potential of mold. But before we fix up the basement, money has to be spent outside the house to address water drainage and runoff.

We are SO thankful family came over to help us, both with clean up and watching our girls!

And we’re really thankful we have a solid emergency fund to help cover this unexpected expense. If you don’t have any savings, let this be your sign to start contributing to an emergency fund EVERY month. This is the first step I have all my coaching clients take!

Someone told me we’ll need to have something stronger than beer for our next B&B episode and I’d have to agree!

Keep you all posted as we navigate expenses related to this awful mess!
