Jean luc Picard Wundercrossing

Jean luc Picard Wundercrossing Portlandians, do you want a bridge named after an angry orca that lives in Orlando? Or a name you can be proud of, the Jean luc Picard Wundercrossing.

We can all agree that Tilikum Crossing is a stupid name. It is an angry orca that has killed three people, or a town in Washington state. Neither of these things deserves a bridge named after it. This name had to be chosen based on a politically correct smorgasboard of buzzword criteria. (http://trimet.org/namethebridge/process.htm). Also TriMet, for future reference, this is what you get if you i

nvolve the public then decide the names they choose aren't good enough. Really, no Kirk Reeves Bridge? But enough about a name that will soon be forgotten -

We should be inspiring our youth with a future historical figure that reflects the true character of our city. Jean-luc Picard. Just weird enough to make the rest of the country say "damnit Portland" and make us laugh every time we bike over it. Sexy, bold and bald, he perfectly represents all Portland children's hopes and dreams about our newest bridge. Our Prime Directive is to join Portlanders together to raise enough money to get billboards all over town to shout out the true bridge name.
