Meet Teresa, our Community Business Team Insurance Agent! Her typical workday involves a mix of generating online quotes, marketing submissions to various insurance carriers, conducting policy reviews, processing policy changes, and building long-term client relationships. She began her insurance career in 1992 as a policy typist, where she typed out policies on a typewriter. From there, she advanced to a clerical assistant, then to an account coordinator. In 2001, she was promoted to a sales position and has since gained experience at several agencies. These experiences made her realize that she loved working in commercial lines, which brought her to JDF in 2010. Throughout her time in insurance, she is most proud of earning her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2004.
Teresa’s favorite part about working for JDF is the sheer variety of the job. No two accounts are ever the same. She also enjoys working for an independent insurance agency because she gets to work with several different insurance companies, which is much more dynamic and fulfilling than representing just one carrier.
