This is the true story of my client Ruby.

In July, she reached out to me because she and her husband were considering buying a new home. On a $900,000 house, with 20% down, her principal and interest payment was $4669.

We knew it was coming and now it’s here!

The Federal Reserve announced this morning that they are going to drop the federal funds rate by 50 basis points.

So, how does that impact you? You will likely see a reduction in your credit card rates and, if you have a HELOC, you will see the rate on that loan drop as well.

Are mortgage interest rates immediately going to go down? No, because the federal reserve doesn’t dictate mortgage rates, they dictate the federal funds rate which is the rate at which the rate at which banks borrow money from one another.

Most likely, we have already seen the impact of this rate drop in the previous six weeks. If you’ve been waiting for rates to go down as a result of the fed meeting today, your time has arrived.
