"I'm not sure about you, but sometimes I get so focused on the end goal, I don't take time to appreciate where I am right now. For example, we were able to do some great hiking recently and I would get so focused on where we were going that I forgot to stop and soak in the amazing sights along the way. I mean at the end of the hike, I am looking for that huge reward: the extraordinary view, the beautiful waterfall, the incredible sense of accomplishment, whatever it is I am working towards. What I am reminded of though, is to stop and look around along the way, because each moment can be spectacular too."

"Early Sunday mornings are a coveted time for me after I get up. I go for a walk by myself, with no phone or earbuds to distract me. I walk and enjoy the quiet and get lost in my thoughts. Since it is typically quite early in the morning, there isn't much (if any) traffic, and I don't usually see others outside. It is a time for me to reflect and take a break from the noise."

Spring is coming. Believe it or not, it is on its way. For those of us in Michigan, or well, anywhere east of the Mississippi, I think we can agree this has been a rough winter. It has been so constant that it makes it difficult to believe that Spring will ever come again, but it will and if it wasn't for winter, we wouldn't appreciate the summertime.
