Florida homeowners and condo owners, quick renewal tip: that 1% F**A emergency assessment on your property insurance ended October 1, two years ahead of schedule. Any policy renewing on or after October 1 should NOT show the surcharge on your declarations page.

The early end is expected to save Florida policyholders about $650 million over the next two years. It is another sign the market is stabilizing: fewer lawsuits, no new carrier failures, and a quiet 2025 hurricane season all helped.

It is also a reminder that your declarations page is worth a real read, not a glance. Small line items add up, and when one drops off, you should see it.

We are in the home stretch of the year. Before 2026 closes out, here is one box worth checking: life insurance.
