On April 5, 2026, something powerful happened at Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. The church, led by Pastor Howard-John Wesley, stepped up for their community in a major way by donating over $1 million to help families stay in their homes. During a service, Pastor Wesley said, "I want to let you know… you have helped stop the eviction of 338 families… To God be the glory."

The church raised the funds through its SEEK initiative, which is a time of prayer, fasting, and community action. Pastor Wesley shared the news with his congregation, and he reminded everyone of a deeper mission behind kindness. Last year, they donated $132,469 to eliminate the college debt for 11 graduates of Saint Augustine's University. From housing support to education relief, their impact continues to show how faith, action, and community can come together to create real change.
