Have a stand-alone Medicare drug plan?
Read your Annual Notice of Change closely this year.
A federal program that helped hold down premium increases on stand-alone Part D drug plans is ending after 2026, and news reports say many people in these plans could see their monthly premium go up in 2027.

Florida is losing 51 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027 — more than any other state.
And that number doesn't tell the whole story: some plans that are staying may drop certain counties, doctors or hospitals.
So please open that letter from your plan before it ends up under the fruit bowl!

Max out of pocket next year for Prescriptions on Medicare:
$2400

In 2027, the Medicare Part D annual out-of-pocket maximum for covered prescription drugs will increase to $2,400, up from $2,100 in 2026. Once you reach that amount in deductible, copays, and coinsurance for covered medications, you will pay $0 for covered Part D drugs for the remainder of the calendar year.
Also, the standard Part D deductible is increasing to $700 in 2027, although some plans may have a lower deductible.

Definitely have your agent run your med cost for 2027. Don't sleep on it. A few carriers are dropping their plans in certain states. Read your ANOC - the most important peice of mail you will get this quarter.
