I just spoke with a lady at Morrisey’s office and Mason County Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

EVERYONE with damage (no matter how small) needs to report damage to this link IMMEDIATELY!! This is the only way to get FEMA to step in. Most folks in Point do not have flood insurance, because why would they if they aren’t in a flood zone…

Morrisey’s office stated that we are still under a State of Emergency in all 55 counties, so the damage reported now should fall into the threshold for the August 18th floods (which is a good thing, if there is a silver lining).

If you are my customer and have an issue with the link, please call my office (please don’t send FB messages because I do not have time to monitor those messages).

You may call the Mason County Homeland office at 304-675-8686. They are very busy, so please leave a message if you can’t reach them. I’m sure Jeremy or Matt will reach back out as soon as possible.

West Virginia friends, it’s always better to prepare before the storm than after it. 🌩️

I’m hopeful tomorrow’s forecast ends up being much less severe than predicted, and I truly hope this post is unnecessary. But as your insurance agent, I’d much rather help you prevent a claim than have to help you file one.

A few simple steps can make a big difference:
🚗 Move vehicles into a garage or under cover if possible.
☂️ Secure patio furniture, trampolines, umbrellas, and anything else that could become airborne.
🌺 Bring in hanging baskets and lightweight decorations.
📱 Charge your phones and portable battery packs in case of power outages.
🏡 If you have time, clear gutters and storm drains so heavy rain can drain properly.
⚡️Stay weather aware and avoid driving if severe storms are moving through your area.

If strong winds or hail are in the forecast, a few minutes of preparation today could save you thousands of dollars and a lot of stress.

Stay safe, keep an eye on the weather, and let’s all hope this system weakens before it reaches us. ❤️ If you do experience damage, my office is here to help guide you through the claims process every step of the way.

2026 Mason County Fair

Every year, I set aside part of my community giving budget to support the hardworking youth participating in the Mason County Fair Junior Livestock Sale.

Although I wasn’t involved in 4-H or FFA growing up, I always admired the dedication, responsibility, and work ethic it takes to care for and show livestock. Those are life lessons that last far beyond the fairgrounds. I’m excited that my own children will soon be old enough to experience 4-H, and I can’t wait to watch them grow through it.

This year, like every year, my livestock sale budget will be divided equally among the children of my current customers who are selling livestock at the Mason County Fair.

💚 You must be a current customer with Julia Davis Insurance (my office).

These guidelines help me distribute my budget fairly each year. If you have questions, you’re always welcome to reach out.

And if your child isn’t participating in the livestock sale, please know your business still helps make a difference. Because of customers like you, I’m able to support local schools, athletics, youth organizations, band, choir, academic programs, and many other community initiatives throughout Mason County, as well as Meigs, Gallia, Racine, and Syracuse.
