Michigan Educational Credit Union Dedicated to serving the financial needs of our community since 1942. Today, we are nearly 50,000 members strong, with assets exceeding $600 million.

Originally known as Wayne Out County Teachers Credit Union, Michigan Educational Credit Union (MECU) formed in 1942 when 28 teachers and educational employees pooled together $170 in assets. We serve individuals who reside, work, or worship in Wayne, Washtenaw, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Jackson Counties. Our long standing policy of "once-a-member, always-a-member" means that you can maintain your membership and enjoy the many benefits that MECU has to offer even if you change jobs or move away from the area.
