Understanding what’s included in your debt-to-income ratio is key.
As a general rule, if it shows up on your credit report, it’s probably included but there are exceptions.

It’s also important to know that some debts, like child support, alimony, or IRS payment plans, can count even if they don’t appear on your credit report.
