Mound City Bank began operations as a state-chartered bank on February 18, 1915, in Platteville Wisconsin. Its founders reflected the spirit of the city’s 4,500 residents, representing a blend of agricultural and business interests. ophy today. Recognizing the growing demand for financial services, Mound City Bank expanded to Belmont, WI in 1935. In 1992, we launched our Cuba City Branch to offer more convenient, full-service banking to the southern part of our market area. Continued growth at our Main Office in Platteville led to the construction of a new four-lane motor branch in 1995, featuring drive-up banking, a drive-up ATM, and a community room for public use. In 1996, the Main Office doubled in size, allowing us to introduce innovative and non-traditional banking services to better serve our expanding customer base. To support future growth, Mound City Bank shareholders approved the formation of Mound City Financial Services, Inc., a one-bank holding company, in 1997. This strategic move enhanced our ability to expand existing products, develop new services, and grow our market reach. With a forward-looking vision focused on the Highway 151 corridor, we established the Mount Horeb Branch in 2007, followed by the Mineral Point Branch in 2008—furthering our commitment to serving more communities with trusted, local banking. From our humble beginnings in 1915 with just $55,000 in total assets, Mound City Bank has grown into a trusted financial institution with over $500 million in assets, six convenient locations, and a dedicated team of more than 80 employees.
