The Access Health CT open enrollment period is over (almost) and now is the time to start planning on how to avoid paying back all of that tax credit subsidy.

We're holding a workshop at our Southington office on Dec 30th at 6:00p, free of charge. Please RSVP asap, seating will be limited

For most people this tax credit is worth tens of thousands of dollars, commonly $30,000-$40,000/yr or more!

This is very important for anyone who may have an income near or above 400% of the Federal poverty level. That income is: Single-$62,000, 2 on tax return- $84,000, 3 on tax return-$106,000 and so on.....

We'll discuss:
MAGI- How they calculate income
Adjustments- Ways you can reduce your MAGI
Shared policy allocation- A method to avoid paying back the tax credit if you have an adult child covered under your plan. This one is complicated, but very powerful for anyone who have a child age 18-26 with income under $62k

Obamacare subsidies have increased substantially! March’s American Recovery Act changed the way health insurance subsidies are calculated and eliminated the hard income cap for receiving these subsidies. Anyone who is paying for their own coverage, especially small business owners over age 50 should investigate. As an example: husband/wife age 60 with $125,000 annual income are eligible for $16,000/yr subsidy leaving a monthly net insurance cost of $11. Call for details and options.
