Please be aware of Medicare fraud for the Covid 19 Home Test.
There are multiple pharmacies now sending out "FREE" home Covid 19 test. In this kit they announce they will be sending 4 or 8 a month unless you call them to discontinue this service. Please know this is " NOT FREE". These companies are BILLING MEDICARE for $200.00 each time they send you this kit. MEDICARE currently approves these claims at just under $100.00 each. Now, this is money being taken out of the Medicare system under Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.
Let's say these pharmacies make a $100 claim for each of these home test, and they sent out 1,000 kits/notices, that is $100,000 a month ($1.2 Million a year) being drained from the Medicare system that could be used for better health care. I am sure much more kits were sent out, at a much greater loss. I am seeing that there are several pharmacy companies doing this as being reported by my clients.
If you receive these "Free Covid-19 Home Kits" and you did not order them or want them, PLEASE REPORT this Fraud to Medicare at 1-800-633-4227. Let Medicare know you did not order these kits.
Together we can fight Medicare Fraud, Waste and Abuse. We just have to report it.
