What Do You Know About What You Will Have At Retirement?

The IRS requires you to withdraw from qualified retirement accounts after age 72.1 The amount of your RMD is calculated based on your life expectancy and takes into consideration all of your tax-deferred retirement accounts, including 401(k)s, 403(b)s, 457(b)s, traditional IRAs, and SEP IRAs. RMD is taxed as ordinary income – any money you receive that’s not a gain on an investment – according to your tax bracket.
