I cannot express this enough…. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call your loan officer BEFORE you wire money for a closing on a home!!! Wire fraud isn’t a joke. Read your emails and know where the email is coming from. Don’t depend on a name! Read where the email address is from!!! (If you are unsure how to look at this- call me 909-376-1334 and I will show you) Don’t rely on a phone number in the email to verify. If they send you a bogus email they are going to give you a phone number to them not the title company. Google or better yet talk to your lender or your realtor on how to independently verify contact information. Forward the email to your loan officer or realtor if you need to!!! Just don’t send money because they send a scary email stating they need it now or you won’t close.
No REPUTABLE closing escrow, attorney or title office uses an email ending in anything other than a professional company email.
