In 1910, 42 local farmers came together with a vision: create a bank that would serve their community and help local families, farms, and businesses succeed.

More than 115 years later, that vision is still at the heart of Farmers & Merchants State Bank.

Through generations of leadership—from Fred and Henry Gerhard, to Hershell Page, Tom Page, Ron Kristensen, and today President & CEO Charlie Christensen—F&M has continued to grow, adapt, and move forward while staying true to the values on which it was built.

We’ve seen horses give way to automobiles, handwritten ledgers become computers, and banking move from the teller window to the palm of your hand.
