Consider Snow Tires Before Inclement Weather Arrives
Now is a great time to make the switch over to snow or winter tires before the arrival of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Not only do they provide better traction on the roads, but snow tires have deeper tread depths, so they reduce snow buildup and expel water while driving. They also have "biting edges," or tiny slits in the tread, which provide better traction in icy conditions.

What gear should I drive in when? Always check with your Manufacturer's representative or Dealership.

2WD - Leave it here the majority of the time. Unless the weather is bad or I go off-road. Best possible fuel mileage, and least drivetrain wear.

4WD Auto - there's some snow on the ground, but there's still some bare pavement, or it's raining and I'm sliding around (not that likely). If am spinning from dead stops or the tail wants to come around causing the traction control to come on in 2WD, I put it in 4WD auto

4WD High - there's a ton of snow on the ground, and you won't be going on any bare pavement any time soon. Or off-road. Less chance of tearing up wet grass and less chance of getting stuck in the mud.

4WD Low - Theoretically climbing up a killer hill or rocks in the mud/snow.
