Did you know a Roth conversion could potentially help you pay less in taxes over your lifetime?

A Roth conversion allows you to move money from a traditional IRA into a Roth IRA. You'll generally pay income taxes on the amount converted today, but qualified withdrawals in retirement are tax-free.

Why might 2026 be a good year to consider one?
✔️ If your income is lower this year, you may be in a more favorable tax bracket.
✔️ Roth conversions can help reduce future required minimum distributions (RMDs).
✔️ Having both traditional and Roth retirement accounts can provide more flexibility when managing taxes in retirement.

Dustin's Tip: The goal isn't necessarily to avoid taxes today. It's to have a strategy that could help you pay less in taxes over your lifetime!

Think about it. If you normally work 40 hours a week, that’s more than 2,000 hours a year that suddenly belong to you.

So what are you going to do with them?

Travel more?
Spend time with the grandkids?
Volunteer?
Pick up an old hobby?
Finally tackle that project you’ve been putting off?

We spend a lot of time talking about having enough money for retirement, and of course that matters.

But I think there’s another question worth asking:

What are you retiring TO?

That might be just as important as the numbers.

If you retired tomorrow, do you know exactly where your monthly income would come from?

For many retirees, income may come from several different places—Social Security, pensions, retirement accounts, investments and other sources.

But having money saved and having an income strategy aren't necessarily the same thing.
