U.S. Coin & Currency Exchange I am a collector and trader in bullion, U.S. Coins & Currency. I am also the "Breadbasket Regional Representative" for ANACS; America''s oldest coin grader
(1)

The study and collecting of (primarily) United States coinage & currency has been a hobby of mine for a few years now. I've spent many, many hours advancing my knowledge in this field. In the meantime, I've been an active member of the A.N.A. (American Numismatic Association), the I.S.N.A. (Indiana State Numismatic Association), and was President of the Indianapolis Coin Club (I.C.C.). I also serv

ed on the I.C.C. Board of Directors for several years and have been a member of the club since 2004. If I can be of service in appraising an estate or collection and/or help to sell or auction items for you, please message me here, or contact me at: [email protected]
This is a hobby for me - not a business, so my fee's for these services are nominal and intended only to reimburse me for the time and resources I devote to the task at hand. (Reference materials and memberships in the necessary associations are expensive). Feel free to message or email with any questions..... :-)

Greetings friends! I haven't posted anything for a while but I bet many of you will find this interesting. Read about this RARE variety....YOU could own this if you act quickly. 2015 2 Onza Mexico Silver Libertad Proof~Detached Wing Variety~1 of only 3 Known! For the serious Mexico Silver Libertad collector I present this beautiful example of the recently discovered "Detached Wing" variety of the 2015 2 Onza proof coin. This is only the 3rd example of the variety known so far and with a total mintage of only 1,300 2 Onza proofs in 2015, it may be the last!
Example #1 (the discovery coin in February of this year) - was certified and attributed by NGC as PF69 Ultra Cameo and recently sold on Ebay for $799.00. It carries NGC Cert # 4355773-001 and the NGC website confirms it is a POP 1. Simply go to their website and under the "RESOURCES" tab, click on "CERT VERIFICATION" and type in 4355773-001
Example #2 was sold (raw) on Ebay Mar 21, 2017 by a seller who apparently didn't realize the importance of the coin as he let it go for something under $399.00 on a Buy It Now or Best Offer auction.
Example #3 is the one you see in my pictures. It is already graded MS69DCAM by the number one grading service in the business - PCGS. I didn't bother to send it in for reholdering & attribution; I'll let you have the pleasure. Apparently PCGS hasn't certified one of these varieties yet as it took their Customer Service Rep (thanks Stephanie) 2 days to call me back and verify that PCGS would indeed be DELIGHTED to attribute this coin as the "Detached Wing Variety". That will make it a POP 1 in the finest holder in the world; PCGS ;-) You'll also be GUARANTEED the MS69DCAM certification since they've already graded it once. You COULD ask for a review when you send it in and if it gets a PR70DCAM designation you'd probably have yourself a $5,000.00 coin!!
This coin was sent (by me) for grading when I received it in October of 2015. I never noticed the (very obvious) fact that Liberty's right wing is not connected to her shoulder. The photo's are pretty dramatic and you should see it in person - the coin has exceptional eye appeal!
This is currently running on an Ebay auction as a BUY IT NOW OR BEST OFFER format. No BS / no nonsense - Immediate payment will be REQUIRED for the "Buy it Now" and will be EXPECTED if you make an offer that I accept. If you don't have the money, don't make the offer please.
Shipping will be Priority Mail Insured and FREE.
Good luck! Here's a link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/332261813614?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

05/30/2017

I'd like some input from you guys and gals regarding the 2015 2oz Mexican Silver Libertad proof "Detached Wing" variety please? Until yesterday I was unaware it existed. I was schlepping through page after page of 2013, 2014, & 2015 proof silver Libertad transactions on Ebay in order to price out some PCGS slabbed proof sets I'm going to offer for sale. (BTW, Thanks alot NGC & PCGS for not listing values for MOST of the Libertads I was trying to price l!!) Anyway, I came across a "Sold Listing" for a 2oz silver Libertad proof with this error. It was a raw coin and the guy had priced it as a "Buy it Now or Best Offer" at $399.00. Someone made him an offer and he took it so I don't know what it actually sold for. On a lark I pulled out the 2015 2oz silver Libertad proof from my personal collection and yes, it was a detached wing variety!! I had the coin slabbed (PCGS PR69 DCAM) when I bought it in October of 2015 and never noticed the detached wing. (see photo's) By now I'm excited that I have one so of course the next question is "How much is it worth"? I started doing some research and found a blog where a fellow was talking about one he sent in to NGC in February and received a PF69 UCAM. (see pic) The slab number was visible so I checked the cert and NGC shows there is a population of only ONE graded by them with this error. There are also 12 graded at PF69 and 9 graded by them at PF70. I tried to find that error in the PCGS population report but I can't seem to locate that info since it's a world coin not U.S. PCGS shows only 8 of the 2oz. proofs graded at PR69 and just 3 at PR70. Now.....should I send it to PCGS and ask them how the heck they didn't see the error when they graded it, send it back for attribution to add the variety to the label, or just market the coin in the holder as-is?
Personally I think the guy who listed the raw one gave it away at whatever was paid for it. The mintage is only 1,300 coins for the 2015 2oz proof so there can't be that many of them. I think it is worth far more. (sorry for the long diatribe) I would LOVE to hear your thought guys and gals on what (if anything) you know about this error and what you think it's worth. Thank you all for reading this far ;-)
