So why does it feel like you're still figuring it out? Let me guess:
โ†’ Paycheck hits, bills get paid, whatever's left just disappears
โ†’ Maxing your 403(b) because that's what everyone said to do
โ†’ Student loans hanging over you with no clear end date
โ†’ You keep saying "we should be further along by now"
โ†’ Every financial decision feels like a guess

You didn't spend years in school and clinicals

to stress about money on top of 12-hour shifts. But here's the problem:
Traditional financial advice doesn't work for PAs and NPs. "Just budget and max your 401k" doesn't help when your benefits packet is 90 pages of jargon, your student loans have a dozen repayment options, and you're too exhausted to sort through any of it. You don't need generic advice for "high earners." You need someone who gets your world. I'm married to Katie, an NP in trauma. I built MedPro Financials because I saw how hard clinicians workโ€”and how little support they get with money. Here's what changes when we work together:
โ†’ You know where your money goes before you spend it
โ†’ Your student loans have a strategy, not just a payment
โ†’ Your income is protected if something happens
โ†’ Saving 15-20% happens automatically
โ†’ You stop guessing and start building

If you're a PA, NP, or physician who's tired of feeling behind despite working this hard, I'd love to learn more about your situation. Book a 20-minute intro: www.MedProFinancials.com

Happy 1st day of school!

Here are the two accounts we set all of our kids up with.

Everyone's situation is different but for us this gave us the combination of greatest flexibility, growth, security.

What do you do for your kids?

Are you being intentional with your cash flow?

So many times people make decisions because it's what they think they SHOULD do.

But what you actually should do depends on your goals in specific situations.

Come get intentional with your cash flow and shoot me a DM!

I gave a nurse practitioner a $20,000 pay cut last week.

She agreed to it.

She makes $185,000 now. Early on she made a fraction of that, and every few years came another raise.

She told me she's dealing with the same money problems she had back then.
Her words, roughly: "I make so much more than I used to. I shouldn't still feel like this."

So I asked her something different.

If her health system closed tomorrow and the only comparable job paid $165,000, would she survive?

She didn't hesitate. "Yeah. I'd figure it out."

That's the whole thing.

She can live on $165,000.
She just isn't, because nobody ever told the extra $20,000 where to go.
It showed up already blended into a paycheck and spread itself across the grocery bill, the car payment, the vacation.

So we took the pay cut on purpose.
That money leaves the account before it ever shows up in her checking balance.

If you've ever bene curious about being more intentional with your cashflow let me know!

Apologies about the ๐Ÿ“!

But let's talk about how we kidnap money from our clients on a regular basis.

Most people get paid their money goes to their bank account then they try to save at the end of the month.

Really what we do is take a portion of your pay and direct deposit it into a separate brokerage account to automatically invest but the difference is you can access it before retirement.

What type of systems do you have around your cash flow?

Residents and fellows at Strong:

Guardian's Guaranteed Standard Issue offer lets you apply for individual disability coverage with no medical exam and no health questions.

True own-occupation.
Permanent discounts of up to 30%.

Eligible during training and 90 days after you finish. After that, full underwriting.
One thing worth knowing: applying with another company first could affect your eligibility for this offer.

I was explaining to a client last week why she needed more than a savings account.

She had money sitting in the bank doing nothing, and every time I said "brokerage account" I could see her eyes glaze over.

So I drew it.

Your savings account is a house with one room.
Money goes in, money sits there, that's the whole house.

The account we opened is a house with many rooms.

One room is emergency savings.
One room is money invested for the things that aren't retirement โ€” a house, time off, whatever comes next. One room can be for protection, depending on your situation.

Same house. Different rooms. Different jobs.

We usually start with 15 to 20 percent of your pay going into that house automatically, every month.

Most people have a one-room house

A few hundred dollars a month, for five years, into an account with no employer match.

That's a conversation I've had more than once lately

I ask how someone landed on their contribution number and the answer is usually some version of
"I have no idea. Set it up during onboarding, felt like the responsible thing, never looked at it again."

So we pull it up. No match. Not a dollar.
Then I ask what they're actually saving for. It's almost never retirement. It's a house, a family, time off while they still have the energy for it.

None of that is 25 years away. All of the money is.
They did exactly what everyone tells you to do. Contribute to retirement, be responsible, don't overthink it.

Five years of doing the responsible thing, aimed at the wrong decade.

We are now proudly working with the NPA of New York! Nurse Practitioner Assoc NYS

Super excited to be at this year's conference in Niagara Falls, and we're kicking off our affinity partnership with a webinar to cover the three financial moves that new grad NPs should make after graduation.

As many of you know, I am married to a nurse practitioner, and I'm so excited to be expanding the work MedPro Financials does to nurse practitioners across New York State.

Really just the beginning, and very grateful for the impact we're about to make
