Our founder, Greg Furer, has been practicing affirmation statements for nineteen years.

It started in 2006 with four index cards his first boss made him carry in his front pocket. Every time the corner of the card poked his leg, he read them. Today he reads twenty-five of his own, out loud, every morning before the building fills up.

He calls this the single leadership habit, outside of his faith, that has shaped him more than anything else.

On Wednesday, June 17th at 6:30 PM, Greg is hosting a one-hour Affirmation Statements Workshop. Leaders walk out with their first three affirmations drafted and a 30-day plan to lock the practice in.

Have yinz heard? Our family is growing again.

We are proud to welcome Timothy J. Sparks, MBA as our new Chief Operating Officer and Integrator at Beratung Advisors.

For those unfamiliar with EOS Worldwide, the operating system we run on, the top of our Accountability Chart pairs two leaders. The Visionary and the Integrator. EOS describes this pairing as one of the most important things a company can get right. When it clicks, it is rocket fuel. Walt Disney had his brother Roy. Henry Ford had James Couzens. Moses had Joshua. Every Visionary in history had an Integrator next to them.

Greg Furer, our Founder and CEO, holds the Visionary seat. As Integrator, Timothy runs the day to day. He leads our leadership team meetings, holds the firm accountable to its priorities, and turns long-term vision into weekly progress for our team and the families we serve.

An experienced operational leader with an MBA, Timothy's focus at Beratung is strategic growth, process improvement, and team development. His leadership ensures that the systems and culture behind our planning work are as strong and scalable as the advice our clients rely on. Yinz seen these gas prices?

It has been the opening of more than a few conversations with our clients over the past few weeks.

The national average has pushed past $4.50 a gallon. West Coast drivers are staring down $6 and $7 fills. The Strait of Hormuz has been functionally shut since the Iran conflict escalated. And gas is, by a wide margin, the most-read piece of advertising in America. Which means it is starting to shape decisions in ways the underlying math does not always support.

The cover Greg is holding above is from TIME magazine, October 14, 1974. His friend Andy Mankey gave it to him during the 2011 Libya oil crisis. Andy covered up the date and asked Greg who was on it. Most people guess wrong. It is Gerald Ford, and the cover story is about Ford's plan to fight the gas crisis crippling America. There is nothing new under the sun.
