Sermon: Who knocks at your door? You might be surprised. While being stationed at Ft Leaveworth at a trailer park across the street from the post a couple and daughter from Texas knocked at our front door. “We are here to see see our son”
I said “where does he live?” “In the federal penitentiary down the street.”Our car is broke down, we have no place to stay, or food to eat.
The couple was polite, dressed nicely and desperate for help.I said come in I will see what I can do.
I went out and got them some hamburgers to eat. I went to the manager of the park , Jack Treckler and talked with him. He had a trailer not in use, got some bedding and army blankets.
I took the car to Penney’s repair shop and got the generator fixed for $75.00.
I got the car back for them. We fed the family the time during stay. They went to visit their son. I never knew why he was in the federal penitentiary. They stayed in 4 days until they left. I was able to fill up there gas tank.
Be careful who God sends your way. If He didn’t want you to care for them they wouldn’t knock at your door!
