As news starts to break regarding today’s tragic incident in Central Louisiana, we ask everyone to keep the family, friends, and coworkers of the fallen United States Marshal in your thoughts and prayers.

This Marshal made the ultimate sacrifice while attempting to serve an arrest warrant. Please remember that this is an active and evolving situation. Out of respect for those affected, allow official sources to release information and avoid spreading rumors or speculation.

The Woodworth Police Department extends our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the family, friends, and fellow Deputy U.S. Marshals of the brave U.S. Marshal who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty today.

Today, our law enforcement family mourns the loss of a hero who answered the call to serve and protect, knowing the risks that come with wearing the badge. Their courage, dedication, and selfless commitment to safeguarding others will never be forgotten.

We stand in solidarity with the United States Marshals Service and every member of the law enforcement community as we grieve this heartbreaking loss. May God provide strength, comfort, and peace to all those who knew and loved this fallen hero during the difficult days ahead.
