Starting tomorrow, prior authorization will no longer be required for chiropractic CPT codes:
✅ 98940
✅ 98941
✅ 98942

This update applies to UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage and D-SNP plans.

Before tomorrow arrives, make sure your front-desk, billing, and clinical teams are aware of the change—but don’t skip member-specific verification!!

As of **August 1, 2026**, the former ASH pathway has changed for affected Florida Blue chiropractic claims.

Before your team inputs the next insurance, pause and confirm the destination:
- ❌ **Old route:** American Specialty Health (ASH)
- ✅ **New route:** Submit directly to Florida Blue

An outdated payer setup can send a perfectly good claim down the wrong path—creating avoidable rejections, delayed reimbursement, and unnecessary work for your staff.

Now is the time to review your billing software, clearinghouse settings, eligibility information, and payer selection.
- Because requirements may vary by member and plan, always verify the patient’s current benefits, network status, and claim-submission instructions.

Beginning August 1, 2026, affected Florida Blue chiropractic claims transitioned away from the former ASH billing route.

Before clicking “submit,” make sure your team has confirmed:
🔎 The patient’s current coverage
🔎 The correct payer destination
🔎 The provider’s network participation
🔎 The plan’s current billing instructions

If it’s an affected Florida Blue claim, it should be routed directly to Florida Blue—not ASH.

Effective August 1, 2026, affected Florida Blue chiropractic claims should no longer be automatically routed through American Specialty Health (ASH).

🥷 The New Billing Mission: 🥷
- ✅ Submit affected Florida Blue claims directly to Florida Blue
- ❌ Do not default them to the former ASH route

Continuing to use outdated ASH billing information could lead to claim rejections, preventable denials, payment delays, additional follow-up—and lost revenue.

Before Submitting Each Claim, Always Verify The Patient’s:
• Current Insurance card
• Eligibility and chiropractic benefits
• Provider network status
• Correct payer and claim-submission information
