Fraud Alert for Business Owners
Scammers are becoming more sophisticated—and they may even make it look like they're calling from your bank.
We've recently been made aware of fraudulent calls targeting business customers. In these scams, criminals may impersonate bank employees to obtain account information or to convince businesses to authorize transactions.
A few reminders:
✅ First Peoples Bank will never call and ask for your passwords, security codes, or online banking credentials.
✅ Be cautious of unexpected requests involving ACH transfers, wire transfers, or account changes.
✅ If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact your local First Peoples Bank branch directly using a trusted phone number.
Summer schedules, vacations, and staff coverage can create opportunities for fraudsters. Take a moment to remind your team about proper security procedures and verify any unusual banking requests.
When in doubt, call us first at 706-663-2700. We're here to help protect your business.
