Tennessee State Bank is saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved Dolly Parton, a true Tennessee icon and one of the most beloved voices our state has ever known.

From her humble beginnings in the Great Smoky Mountains to becoming a world-renowned singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman, and philanthropist, Dolly never forgot where she came from. Her music touched generations, but her kindness and generosity touched countless lives.

Dolly’s impact on Tennessee goes far beyond her music. Through her philanthropy, including the Imagination Library, she dedicated herself to giving back and making a difference in the lives of others.

Her legacy will live on through her music, her generosity, and the many lives she inspired along the way. Tennessee will never be quite the same without her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dolly’s family, friends, and the countless people who loved her.
