I recently read an article about youth self-harm, and after hearing conversations between my kids and their peers, it made me realize this is happening closer to home than many of us think.
So many young people are carrying silent struggles , pressure at school, bullying, family stress, loneliness, anxiety, and feeling like they can’t openly express what they’re going through.
What stood out to me most is that many kids don’t necessarily want attention… they want understanding, support, and a safe space to be heard without judgment.
As parents, families, schools, and communities, we need to pay attention, listen more closely, and create environments where young people feel safe talking about their emotions before they reach a breaking point.
Sometimes a simple conversation, support, or showing up consistently can make a bigger difference than we realize. 💙
