Been a pretty busy week with service calls, several clients had issues with all the rain and basements. Which is the reason for this post: WHAT TO DO IN A CLAIM SITUATION...

Disclaimer: We also own homes and have had claims. It SUCKS. But it's also why we all HAVE insurance.

1. Assess the situation and mitigate it.
2. Call your agent. We deal with it EVERY DAY. We'll "talk you off the ledge", provide guidance, and refer/suggest qualified professionals to help. And of course we'll review your coverage and deductibles.
3. Get a qualified professional in there ASAP.
4. Make the claim.
5. Keep the lines of communication with your agent open. We're here to help, and are able to escalate a situation when needed.
