Your health insurance options will change forever.
Medicare enrollment is an on-going process.
• Initial enrollment periods
• Annual enrollment
• Special enrollment periods
• Losing your employer’s health coverage
• Retiring and being able to save money by enrolling in a Medicare plan
• Veterans that may want quicker access to medical treatment
• Your employer may make you enroll in Medicare while continuing to work
It is very important to be aware of these issues. You might suffer a loss of coverage if you do not choose the proper time to enroll.
How to get your Medicare card that is needed to verify your ability to enroll in a Medicare plan. You need to have Parts A & B to enroll in a plan.
If you have employer coverage:
• You may not have to enroll in Part B, thus saving the premium on this part until you decide to switch to Medicare
• You may want to ask your benefits administrator if their plans are “creditable coverage”
Different plans to choose from, depending on your health needs.
