🚀 Just had an inspiring conversation with Arias WebsterBerry, entrepreneur and founder of WebsterBerry Marketing, on the latest episode of the FiduciWho podcast!

We dove deep into what it really takes to build and scale a business as an entrepreneur in today’s digital and AI-driven world. Arias’ journey from a childhood marked by instability to helping clients generate over $112 million through smart systems, automation, and authentic branding is nothing short of amazing.

🔑 Here are takeaways for fellow entrepreneurs:
Embrace Imperfection & Authenticity: Don’t wait until everything is perfect to put yourself out there. Sharing real stories and challenges builds stronger connections than any polished marketing ever could. Your audience wants to see the real you!

Be Relentless and Willing to Fail Forward: Success isn’t about never failing, it’s about getting up every time you fall and learning from the journey. The most successful business owners are the ones who keep pushing, iterating, and improving, even when it’s tough.

Start Simple with Systems & Use AI: Automation isn’t reserved for big corporations. Even a basic lead-generating landing page and automated follow-up can put you ahead of the competition. Leverage today’s AI tools for omnichannel communication and efficiency, even small steps can make a huge difference.

Divorce can make the future feel impossible to picture.
That’s why listening matters. Sometimes it means hearing the same fear, the same worry, the same uncertainty over and over again, and then gently reminding someone how far they’ve already come.

Because progress doesn’t always feel like progress when you’re living through it.
Maybe the first conversation was just about getting through the day. Ten conversations later, they’re making decisions, leaving the house, asking better questions, and starting to imagine what life could look like on the other side.

That’s the work: listening, holding hands, cheerleading, goal-setting, and helping people dream again.

When divorce settlements involve life insurance, the details matter.

It’s not enough to say, “There’s a policy in place.” Who owns it? Who is the beneficiary? Can that beneficiary be changed? Who gets notified if the premium isn’t paid?

I’ve seen it too many times: protection gets left out, and the spouse who was supposed to be protected finds out too late that the policy lapsed or changed. That’s why planning ahead matters. The right structure can help make sure the protection actually stays in place when it’s needed most.

As I always say: protect first. Because a plan that doesn’t protect you isn’t really a plan.

Don’t let the tax tail wag the dog.

I see this happen all the time: someone makes a financial decision just to save taxes today, without asking what it may cost them tomorrow.

Putting money into a qualified retirement plan can be a great move. But let’s be clear: in many cases, you’re not eliminating taxes, you’re deferring them.

And if you’re deferring taxes while you’re in a lower bracket today, only to pull that money out later in a higher bracket, did you really win?

The goal isn’t just to pay less tax this year. The goal is to build a smarter long-term plan.
Taxes matter. But they’re only one part of the big picture.

People are locking money away for decades before they’ve handled the basics right in front of them.

A 25-year-old putting money into a 401(k) they can’t touch until 59½ may sound responsible. But what if they don’t own a home yet? What if they’re carrying debt? What if they don’t have enough cash for life’s curveballs?

Time is one of the biggest advantages in wealth building, but so is flexibility.

Before you chase retirement dollars, make sure you’ve built the foundation: protection, cash reserves, debt strategy, and a plan you actually understand.

Because good financial advice shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. It should start with one question: “What’s going on in your world?”

🎙️ Just had an awesome conversation on "FiduciWho" with my friend Todd Langford, founder of Truth Concepts. Todd and I go way back, almost 30 years, and his take on “conscious calculations” in finance is truly eye-opening. We explored why numbers alone don’t tell the whole story when it comes to your financial life.

Here are my top 3 takeaways from our conversation for anyone thinking about their future:

It's More Than Just Math: Todd emphasized that while math has to be right, financial planning also needs to consider real life, things like risk, unexpected events, and what really matters to you.

Don’t Ignore Opportunity Cost: Every dollar you spend, save, or invest has a long-term impact. Todd broke down how ignoring opportunity cost can undermine your wealth over time.

Cash Gives You Freedom: Having accessible cash isn’t just comforting, it gives you options and the ability to make smart moves when life throws curveballs. Rate of return matters less than having resources when you need them most.

If you’re an advisor or just want to understand money better, check out Truth Concepts and keep an eye out for Todd's upcoming book, "Conscious Calculations." We're all about helping you protect, grow, enjoy, and transfer your wealth, at RaskinGlobal.com with a little less stress along the way!

Business is business is business.

Whether you’re running a small firm here in the Mid-Atlantic with a dozen employees, or leading a company the size of General Motors, the fundamentals don’t change. Leadership, communication, culture, accountability, and decision-making matter at every level.

The scale may be different. The layers may be different. But the principles are the same. Build the right foundation, surround yourself with the right people, and stay focused on the basics that make an organization work.

Sometimes you live with something so long, you stop seeing it clearly. It’s like getting ready to sell your house, and the real estate agent walks in with a list of changes. You think, “If we did all that, we might stay.” That outside perspective can reveal what’s been right in front of you all along.

Business works the same way. When you surround yourself with people who have been through the wars, people who have built, failed, learned, and kept going. Their perspective becomes invaluable. You don’t always need someone to tell you what you want to hear. You need someone who can see what you can’t.

The right outside voice can help you protect what you’ve built, grow with intention, enjoy the journey, and transfer wisdom to the next generation.
