Why do we feel good when we help others? Did you know that helping someone lowers your stress and anxiety levels? Its true, providing help to someone in need activates neural pathways in the brain that boost our well-being. I am sure that all of us know someone who could use a little help.
I just got off the phone about an hour ago with a senior in Massachusetts to give him some amazing news on his REVERSE MORTGAGE! To make a long story short,
• His income was reducing by over 41%
• His health has made it very difficult to work.
• He has tried to apply for work, but most companies have asked him to go “online” and fill out an application.
• But like many seniors, “going online” to fill out anything, is almost impossible.
Ultimately, he didn't know what he was going to do. He spoke to several lenders to try and get cash out of his home. He had the equity, but unfortunately couldn’t afford the HIGHER monthly payment. Imagine putting all of your money into your home and finding out that you couldn’t access it. Wow…and before you say, just sell the home and take the equity. You need to realize that his father built the home over 100 years ago. He said "my father sacrificed so much for me to have this house” I can’t even imagine ever losing it.
Like many seniors, retirement isn't the honeymoon that they had hoped for. Many seniors worked extremely hard to provide for their families. Then “boom”, it’s time to retire and face the reality that their retirement may not be exactly the way they had hoped for.
