CVC Insurance Please visit my site and fill out the "Contact Me" page. Many Medicare enrollees do not wish to meet face-to-face. No problem! We can meet via Zoom or Skype.

Here at CVC Insurance, my mission is to educate and advise retirees, seniors, and persons with certain disabilities about their rights and benefits within the Medicare and Medicaid system. Nowadays many carriers like United Health Care provide for Voice Activation Signatures or VAS so it's easier than ever to meet up remotely!

Sometimes Medicare enrollees have the qualifications to enroll in Medicare and Medicaid. In California, Medicaid is also called Medi Cal and it is health insurance for low income participants. When you are eligible for both programs, often times many low or no-cost benefits are attached to these plans. Call CVC for a no obligation consultation.

I’m not sure if those who designed Medicare back in the 1960’s had any idea how confusing it would be to 48 million retirees in the United States in 2020. Suffice to say, the terminology alone is enough to make your eyes gloss over: Part A, B, C, D….HMO vs. PPO, AEP, OEP, SEP and on and on. CVC Insurance in Ahwatukee, Arizona is in business to simplify the whole Medicare process.

One of the most confusing things about choosing health plans when you retire is the difference between a Medicare Supplement plan and a Medicare Advantage plan. Supplement- or Medigap plans- pay the 20% of medical expenses that Medicare doesn’t pay. You have the freedom to go to any doctor that accepts Medicare and there are no
networks but there are monthly premiums that increase with age. Advantage- or Part C plans- usually have zero or very low monthly premiums but you have to stay in a network of doctors and specialists.

Medicare Part D is insurance for prescription drugs. Without it, many, many seniors and disabled people would be in serious financial distress. There are stand alone plans
offered by most of the major carriers like Humana and United Health Care with modest monthly premiums, many Advantage plans have Part D included, so you don’t have to
pay a separate premium. Call CVC for a comprehensive evaluation of your prescriptions.

One of the biggest sources of confusion with Medicare are the enrollment periods. AEP, OEP, IEP, SEP….it sounds like secret codes!! When you first become eligible for Medicare it’s usually right when you turn 65, and it’s called your Initial Enrollment Period, or your IEP. It is a 7-month window- 3 months before your birthday month, the month you turn 65, and the immediate 3 months after the month you turn 65. During your IEP you can apply and enroll in Medicare Parts A and B.

Many Medicare eligibles get confused between Part A, B, C, and D. In a nutshell, Medicare Part A means insurance for hospitalization, that is, the building itself. Part B covers the doctor you need to see in that hospital and/or your personal physician who treats you out of their office. Part D is insurance for prescription drugs, and Part C blends A+B+D into one comprehensive, managed care plan. At CVC we offer solutions to the vast Medicare puzzle!
