However in today's mortgage industry, with all of the CFPB rules and ever changing guidelines, it takes a special type of loan officer to not only get the job done. But get it done well. In the past 18 years of experience, I have encountered all different types of scenarios with issues and road blocks. Some of them
kept me up all hours of the night looking for the solution. What ultimately got those loans closed, wasn't my 18 years of experience, because no two loans are the same. It was my ability to be CREATIVE. To think outside of the box and find unique and LEGAL solutions to get a loan through underwriting. In the instance when one of these "road blocks" are reached, communication becomes vital. Staying in contact with my borrowers and their real estate agents is a must! And who knows, maybe talking it through with them will lead to the solution! And if there isn't any issues with the loan, it's nice to know that too! As long as everyone is on the same page and up to speed, working TOGETHER to reach the common goal, the process becomes a whole lot easier and, let's face it, nicer! For me, the major component to good communication, is HONEST communication. Being upfront, even if it's with not-so-good news, is important in my book. Of course I like to avoid bad news like the Plague, but sometimes it's inevitable. So in those times, I am as upfront and honest as possible. If by some reason a solution can't be found, I'd like to leave people with the lasting impression of, "At least she was forthcoming about it." Let's face it...mortgages are complex and at times, stressful. But with the right loan officer, you can rest assured that you are in good hands with an individual who takes pride in her work and her clients satisfaction.
