We’re excited to welcome Liz Evans as AHCOPA’s new Director of Communications!

Liz brings more than 12 years of nonprofit experience in communications, fundraising, leadership, and community engagement. She holds a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management from Clemson University and has worked with organizations focused on community development, active living, healthy eating, home repair, healthcare, and the arts.

For Liz, housing is about more than having a place to live. She is passionate about the role homeownership can play in creating stability and building generational wealth, as well as helping people remain safely in their homes and communities as they age.

In her new role, Liz looks forward to sharing AHCOPA’s impact and connecting more people and families with the resources and opportunities our programs provide.

Fun fact: Liz recently moved to Pennsylvania, making it the ninth state she’s lived in!

Kaylah Vereen does so much for AHCOPA! You may have seen her out at a Will Workshop giving a presentation, or maybe you called the office and she helped you schedule an appointment. We know that it can be hard to split your workday between multiple programs, and appreciate that Kaylah has supported those programs well.
Soon, Kaylah will become the full time Will Power program manager! This way, she'll be able to dedicate more of her time to the program that she helped grow.

35 years ago, Ms. Thelma came to ACORN (later known as AHCOPA) for first time homebuyer counseling.

"They really helped me out, and I was able to get the grant and purchase my home. I've been in my home for 33 years."

Last week, she came back to AHCOPA to write her will, for free.
"It was very easy. I would advise anyone to follow this process. The counselor was very kind and it has been a very good experience all around!"
