Valentine’s Day is a chance to show your love and affection to friends, romantic partners—and pets, of course!
However, many Valentine’s Day favorites can be quite hazardous to pets—and nothing ruins a romantic evening like a trip to the emergency vet.
Share the love this Valentine’s Day with your pet by NOT sharing these holiday favorites:
· Chocolate – The darker the chocolate, the more toxic it is to pets.
· Sugar-free candies – Contain xylitol, which is toxic to pets even in small amounts.
· Alcohol – Wine, beer and liquor all make your pet sicker—don’t leave your drinks unattended!
· Flowers – Bouquet favorites like lilies, tulips and chrysanthemums can be deadly if ingested.
Instead, we recommend sharing cuddles, nose boops, belly rubs or an extra treat with pets to celebrate the day.
We wish you and your pet a safe and happy Valentine’s Day!
