We also continue to bring in new works for upcoming premieres. The Edwin A. Fleisher Collection of Orchestral Music is the world's largest lending library of orchestral performance material, with over 21,500 titles and growing. It houses virtually the entire standard repertoire, and is also known for its many rare and out-of-print works available for lending around the world. It is a unique source

of 19th- and 20th-century American music, and has a longstanding commitment to promoting new, noteworthy, and overlooked works. The lending service is available to music organizations upon receipt of a written request. You can also peruse the entire collection in person at the Central Library, 1901 Vine Street. At just 23 years old, Hans Zimmer is pictured with the massive Moog synthesizer originally designed by Robert Moog and famously used by Wendy Carlos on Switched-On Bach. A modular analog instrument, the Moog generates sound through interconnected oscillators, filters, and patch cables. Zimmer acquired this particular unit from Tangerine Dream’s Chris Franke and later adapted it for computer control, linking classic analog technology with the future of digital film scoring.
