It was the summer of 2006, right before I started my first year of high school. I walked into my house after having a great day with my friends. Then, my mother told me that my dad passed away. Life insurance did not bring him back, but the policy he purchased gave my family the resources to stay afloat. That's why I do what I do. Because what happened to me, happens more than most people realize.
