Headlines are screaming “home prices are falling” in 2026
And in a handful of markets, that’s true. Short term charts look scary right now depending on where you look.
But real estate doesn’t reward the people who panic on a 12 month chart. It rewards the people who think in decades.
Zoom out to 2014 and look what these markets that are “falling” in 2026 have done:
📈 Tampa: +175.4% growth
Migration into Florida drove an aggressive mid decade run that held strong even through recent pullbacks.
📈 Tucson: +115.5% growth
No wild spike, no crash. Just steady, linear appreciation that quietly outpaced flashier tech hubs like Austin.
📈 Austin: +90% net growth → $190,000
The pandemic rocket ship peaked, then corrected about 24.5%. Still up 90% over the decade.
Even the market with the roughest recent correction is still nearly double what it was 10 years ago.
Short term dips are noise. Migration patterns, population growth, and housing demand are the signal.
If you’re waiting for the “perfect” month to buy, you’re playing the wrong game. Real estate wealth isn’t built in months. It’s built in decades.
Zoom out. Then make your move
