Hate to break it to you, but getting the S-Corp election approved was only step one.
A lot of business owners make the election thinking: “Great, now I’m saving taxes.”
But no one explains what needs to happen after the election. And that’s where things get complicated.
🚩You haven’t set up payroll or started paying yourself a reasonable salary.
🚩You’re simply taking distributions without understanding the rules around how you should be paying yourself.
🚩You’re still DIYing your books and they’re months or years behind.
🚩You’re still mixing business + personal money.
🚩You’re waiting until tax season just to file a return instead of having an actual tax strategy throughout the year.
🚩And no one has reviewed whether your S-Corp is being managed correctly.
The S-Corp election isn’t the strategy. What you do after it is.
If you’re already an S-Corp and some of this sounds a little too familiar… don’t keep ignoring it.
Small compliance issues can turn into expensive problems.
And if your business income has changed and you’re wondering whether an S-Corp still makes sense or whether it’s your next move? You don’t have to guess through that decision.
Book a tax strategy call through the link in my bio and let’s review where your business stands. 🦋
P.S.🚨 If you filed for an S-Corp extension the filing deadline is September 15th.
