Once the queen has been moved, any bees not already relocated will not know what to do. They'll swarm together, as seen below. If it is a large swarm, your bee experts will vacuum them up and relocate them with the rest of the hive. If it is a small swarm, the bees will likely disperse on their own.

Again, be sure to use an expert, like BeesAreUs. Bees are an important part of our environment; let's do all we can to help them thrive (just not in our houses).

A word of caution: As the work is being done, some of the honeycomb will fall to the ground. The bees will continue to work on it, as seen below. It is cool to watch, but be careful!

Yesterday, we showed you one of our properties that had a lot of bees around the roof. If you are just now noticing this at your house, the bees have probably been there a year or two. Pest control companies are not equipped to safely handle bees, so it is best to call experts in bee relocation. Pest control companies typically spray to kill the bees, but if you do not completely clean the area, you're likely to get other bees or ants move in.

Our partners at BeesAreUs identified a pretty large hive in the soffit, and went to work. You can see just how large the hive was, based on how many bees are still there.

Did you know that any cracks in siding, trim, or roof provide great opportunities for bees to get in and turn your home into a beehive?

While looking at the roof of one of our properties, we noticed that there was a concentration of bees in one corner. From the ground, it was hard to see, because of the trees (can you see it in the picture?). Once we cleared the trees away, it was pretty obvious.
