So many women spend their lives taking care of everyone else — children, spouses, parents, friends — while putting their own financial future last.

But one of the most powerful things a woman can do is to take control of her money with confidence. 💛

Not because life is about wealth.
Because financial peace creates choices:
✔ The choice to live freely and retire comfortably
✔ The choice to be healthy through all phases of your life
✔ The choice to help family without sacrificing yourself
✔ The choice to enjoy life without constant stress

It’s never too late to learn about investing, retirement, savings, or building income streams. Every small step counts.

Your future deserves the same care you’ve given everyone else.

What are you working toward right now? If I can be of support, please reach out. I work to help you feel empowered, feel secure and live free and comfortable life.

May is more than just the wrap-up of tax season—it’s the start of smarter planning.

If April was about filing, May is about *strategy*.

Now is the ideal time to:
✔️ Review what worked (and what didn’t) in your 2025 tax return
✔️ Adjust paycheck tax withholdings or estimated payments for 2026
✔️ Explore proactive strategies like Roth conversions, tax-efficient investing, or business structuring
✔️ Align your financial plan with upcoming life changes before the year gets away from you

The biggest mistake I see? Waiting until January to think about taxes again. (Yes, I know, with the sun out and warmer weather, taxes are not on our immediate to-do list here in Wisconsin!)

Tax strategy isn’t seasonal—it’s year-round.

If you want to keep more of what you earn and make intentional financial moves, now is the time to act.

Schedule your Discovery Call with Jennifer if you want a mid-year tax strategy check-in.

IRS Shutdown Update

In-person services limited; IRS.gov, automated applications still available

Due to the current lapse in appropriations, IRS operations are limited. However, the underlying tax law remains in effect, and all taxpayers must continue to meet their tax obligations as normal.

Tax refunds will generally not be paid during this period with one key exception. For taxpayers filing a Form 1040, refunds will continue to be paid on electronically filed, error-free tax returns that can be automatically processed and direct deposited. The IRS urges individual taxpayers to file electronically with direct deposit to avoid delays.

During this period, the IRS will accept and process any payments and remittances received, whether received electronically or by mail.

Limited live IRS telephone customer service assistance will be available, however most automated toll-free telephone applications will remain operational.

IRS walk-in Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) will be closed. For people with appointments at a Taxpayer Assistance Center, all of these will be cancelled until the government reopens.

While the government is closed, people with appointments related to the Independent Office of Appeals or Taxpayer Advocate Service cases are cancelled. IRS personnel will reschedule those meetings when the government reopens.

With the 2026 filing season rapidly approaching, the IRS will be continuing some critical operations during this period to be ready for taxpayers. This includes testing and preparation of filing season programs and related issues.

Important information for taxpayers
1) Taxpayers must continue to file and pay taxes as normal.
2) All tax deadlines remain in effect, including those covering individuals, corporations, partnerships and employers. The regular payroll tax deadlines remain in effect as well.
3) The IRS will continue processing payments received, whether by check or electronic means, during this period.
4) Taxpayers can file their tax return electronically or on paper –– although the processing of paper returns will be delayed until full government operations resume. Payments accompanying paper tax returns will still be accepted and deposited as the IRS receives them.
5) The IRS website, www.IRS.gov, will remain available, along with some of the automated tools on the site.

Note: In-person service. IRS walk-in taxpayer assistance centers (TACs) are closed. During the government shutdown, all appointments are cancelled.

While the IRS will be able to receive mail and deposit tax payments received, the agency generally will not be responding to paper correspondence. Taxpayers who mail in correspondence to the IRS during this period should expect a longer delay for a response after full government operations resume due to a growing correspondence backlog.

Stay safe! I woke up to a call regarding a credit card transaction. This is fraud!

Remember, please pull out your credit card or a statement & call the number on your card or statement. DO NOT call the number on the text or voicemail. You’ll call directly to fraud instead of your actual card service.

Financial fraud is getting more and more aggressive and coming from different directions. Be safe!

2025 Tax Law Change Highlights (OBBBA)

 If you plan “Green Purchases,” like a new vehicle or any residential green upgrades, now is the time to act. These benefits have been repealed and are ending over the next few months.
 Are you currently covered by Marketplace Insurance? Huge changes to the eligibility and renewal processes, along with premium subsidies from The American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Acts not extending beyond 2025. This will likely cause your out-of-pocket premiums to raise (starting in 2026) for millions currently covered, along with trickle-down effects in the industry over the next few years.
 Over age 65 - You can be eligible for an added $6k deduction (in addition to the standard deduction). This benefit is temporary and income-limits apply.
 Child Tax Credit – There is a continuance of the child tax credit with a little boost. However, the age limit of 16 and under remains, so you that is a little negative affect as your kids age into that period. Additionally, those paying Child or Dependent Care expenses, there are higher credit rates for the childcare deduction, along with the increase to your employer dependent care reimbursement maximum.
 Overall continued lower marginal tax rates & higher standard deduction– All rates will continue to stay on the lower side, which was implemented with The Tax Cuts & Jobs Act from 2017 and were set to expire this year.
 If you are better off itemizing deduction in 2025, there is a temporary increase to the SALT (state and local tax) limit.
 Enhancements in education definitions with the 529 education plans. Now included are expenses for professional development, trade/occupational education, testing and special needs education (like tutoring or speech therapy).
 Educator Deduction – Likely not good enough for most teachers, BUT, if you lump purchases into one year, we could potentially see a benefit with the use of an itemizing rule. Otherwise, you can continue with the $300 flat rate currently available.
 Temporary deduction for Tip and Overtime Income, both have caps and income-limits for eligibility.
 We haven’t seen this from the 1980’s, there is a temporary addition to deduct Auto Loan Interest for “U.S. Assembled Vehicles”. We will see a list shortly for vehicles that will be eligible. Note, again caps and income-limits apply.
 New baby? The pilot program for a $1,000 Trump Account is available for babies born between 2025-2028.
 Estate and Gift Tax Exclusion – The exclusion for estate taxes will continue to be high enough that most taxpayers will not find themselves paying a tax on their estates.

If you want to know how these affect you directly, reach out and let's talk!

*Note, states generally follow IRS rules. However, that is not always the case. Make sure to review your personal state rules and procedures to follow those accordingly.

This weekend we had the honor of hosting our first agency retreat in Pewaukee, WI! We heard from our favorite vendors, Disney, Royal Caribbean, Sandals, and Hyatt Inclusive Collection, and got so much valueable information from local woman-owned businesses FiduciaOne and KAYDEE Management Solutions. We also attended a Brewers game together, and they won! I think we were good luck 😉

Thank you so much to our team who traveled to the cheese state to learn and grow! It is always so great to learn alongside each other to better service our valueable guests, you! 💕✨

I’m not a huge fan of budgeting. I’d rather live life than spend countless hours analyzing every dollar I spend.

Instead, I make sure my money decisions are aligned to my goals for my life. Every single purchase, from online to Costco, I say to myself, “is buying this a need or aligned to my top 5 goals/values for my life?”. If not, my mind says, “it’s not worth it.” I put it back and walk away.

This process has helped me, and my husband, to spend consciously and make sure each dollar is aligned with our life goals.

In the end, it has resulted in less conflict between us, and provided us much satisfaction and contentment in both our lives.
