A nice little surprise to me after attending the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting last week Thursday. The New Member of the Year award, was awarded to Leighann Lovely and myself! Congratulations Leighann!

Thank you to the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and everyone who made this award possible. The connections I have made through the Chamber stay close to my heart as they are not just connections, but also very good friends that I consider part of my family. I was very inspired and motivated at the Celebrating Women in Business Leaders Luncheon today.

A few things I took away were:

1. Always be reading a book. You can only get better by reading about how others failed and how some found success and learning from it.

2. Understand your vision and primary objective of why you are in business and create a plan to achieve that purpose.

3. Focus on Mindset, take care of yourself first.

4. Do things you enjoy and love doing.

5. Trust your intuition and listen to your gut feeling.

6. Being a leader is sometimes uncomfortable. Stir the pot and be different.

The panel of speakers were amazing. Thank you to the Brookfield Chamber for hosting, and Kris Falkner, Lori Highby, Morgan Schnabl and Susan Marschall for speaking. Looking forward to next year already!

The Greater Milwaukee Young Professionals met for their monthly meeting tonight. It was great getting to know more about the individuals here tonight. Not only learning what they do for business but learning about their struggles, why they are in the business they are in and how we can collectively help them grow as a group.
