Three years. Thousands of conversations. Countless cups of coffee. And more ā€œWait…that’s actually covered?ā€ moments than I can count.

This past month marks three years with Harbor Brenn Insurance Agencies (and fifteen in the industry!), and looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do what I genuinely love every day.

People often ask me what I do.

Yes, I sell insurance.

But more importantly…

I help first-time homeowners understand what they’re buying.

I help families make sure they’re protected before life throws them a curveball.

I help people insure everything from their daily driver to their dream lake house, cottage, boat, RV, ATV, snowmobile, motorcycle, collector car, and everything in between.

I explain deductibles, liability limits, and all those confusing insurance terms that make most people’s eyes glaze over.

I answer the ā€œWhat if…?ā€ questions.

And sometimes I get to be the person who finds a family better coverage while saving them money— (that is always a fun phone call to make)!

One thing I’ve learned over the last three (or fifteen) years is that insurance isn’t really about policies. It’s about people.

It’s about protecting the life you’ve worked hard to build and making sure you have someone in your corner when the unexpected happens.

To every client who has trusted me, referred a friend, asked a question, or simply followed along in my journey—thank you. You allow me to do work that I truly enjoy, and I don’t take that for granted.

And if we’ve never met…

Hi! šŸ‘‹ I’m Elaine. I’m a Personal Insurance Sales Agent & Risk Manager at Harbor Brenn Insurance Agencies, and I believe insurance should make sense. My goal is to explain it in a way that’s easy to understand—without the sales pressure or the confusing lingo.

Here’s to Year 4… (or 16!) … and to many more conversations about everything from ā€œfull coverageā€ to floating docks. 😊

Thank you for being part of the journey!

HELP ME HELP YOU. 🚨

Can I give you one piece of insurance advice?

If someone depends on you financially, you need life insurance. Full stop.

Life insurance isn’t for the person who dies. It’s for the people left behind trying to pay the mortgage, buy groceries, keep the lights on, and figure out how to move forward.

One thing people often overlook: stay-at-home parents. While they may not bring home a paycheck, replacing everything they do for a family would be incredibly expensive. (And trust me, I know how difficult this role is- it’s truly the hardest job you’ll ever love so very much!)

Term life insurance is simple, affordable, and designed to do one job well: provide financial protection while your family still depends on you.

It’s not the most exciting conversation we’ll ever have. But it may be one of the most important. Our conversations are productive, confidential, and hopefully informative. Reach out to me directly (via email or phone) if I can help with this.

Filing a claim? Here’s what to expect next:

At Harbor Brenn, we’re here to walk with you through the process—because let’s be honest, claims can feel overwhelming. Here’s a quick guide to working with your adjuster:

šŸ“ž You’ll hear from an adjuster
Once your claim is submitted, an adjuster is assigned. You should hear from them within 1–2 business days. These timelines can be longer if we are in a catastrophic event situation.

Before you connect with your adjuster, try to have:
• Your policy number
• Photos or videos of the damage
• A quick summary of what happened
• Any receipts or estimates (if you have them)

šŸ—£ļø Tell your story clearly
Be honest and detailed—what happened, when, where, and who was involved.
The more clarity, the smoother the process.

šŸ“… Keep a simple claim log
Track calls, emails, and documents. It helps avoid confusion and keeps things moving.

🧾 Hold off on major repairs
Unless it’s to prevent further damage (like tarping a roof), wait for the adjuster to review.
Always keep receipts for emergency fixes.

šŸ’¬ Stay in touch
If anything changes—new damage, delays, unexpected costs—keep your adjuster (and us!) in the loop.

If something feels unclear, call us. We’ll step in, explain, and advocate for you every step of the way.
