The recent economic crunch has had a couple of unexpected impact on my business (my life!). For many years I have offered my customers security in their investment in my work by saying that if they ever wanted to trade up to my latest and greatest work (I am definitely improving steadily) I would honor the original purchase price of their instrument at full value, assuming that it was in as new co
ndition, they had bought it directly from me, and that the value of the new instrument was at least 150% of the value of the trade in. Because I have been in business for 47 years, nearly all of my old instruments qualify for this deal against nearly all of my new instruments. In these hard times a relatively high proportion of my recent customers have taken my up on this offer, and I find myself owning over 20 of my older guitars,. These mostly between 5 and 10 years old, so they are fully evolved modern pieces, and while I may be making better instruments today, these all compare well with the best instruments available today. If you are attracted to the idea of owning the best guitar you can imagine, consider taking advantage of the fact that I am selling these fine examples of my work for (in most cases) at or below the original price they sold for, unadjusted for inflation. These are proven instruments, as good as guitars can be, and at prices low enough that they are unlikely to drop until our civilization collapses.
